My Role: Art Direction & UI Design
Website: Proposal for NHS
About the Client
The project is a proposal for the NHS (National Health Service) Dental Department.
Design a simple and easy to use responsive web app for NHS dentists. More than 50% of the patients in need for dental braces are being wrongly assessed. The purpose of the app is to help dentists in UK to improve their assessment and to minimize the wrong assessments as well as the involved costs.
I have decided to create a simple landing page to support and inform the users about the app and its features. First section is a full width call to action to register and view features. Further down in the second section, the user can find out about the app with the 3 main reasons why this kind of assessment must be done. The third section shows the "Index of treatment need" (IOTN Components) and also the exceptions to the rule which are presented in a slider with images and short descriptions.
Because of the long lists of patients and referrals, both printable, I have chosen an easy to read and versatile typeface (Open Sans) for all screen sizes and print. I have chosen to use light and fresh colours to resemble the clean environment in a dental practice.
The UI and UX is based on round shapes and subtle transitions to help the user dentist concentrate more on the assessment. This was the most challenging task because I had a very short time to do all the elements and their alternative options.
